Uniquely created for the World Parrot Trust auction, this delicate piece is crafted from a naturally-molted Blue-and-gold Macaw (Ara ararauna) feather, displaying the yellow side of the feather. Feathers are carefully arranged in a beautiful shadow box, skillfully arranged and set apart from the background, allowing for an unique play of shadows that change depending on the direction and quality of the light.

 

This 15" x 12" x 2" one-of-a-kind piece is presented in a stylish black wooden frame behind clear acrylic, making it lightweight, durable and resistant to breaking. Ships with a Certification of Authenticity, a guarantee, and care instructions.

2) Shipping costs for delivery are included.

  

3) Feathers utilized in each piece have been legally provided to the artist by local zoos and aviaries, collected after natural molting, with no harm to the bird.

 

4) A portion of the proceeds from this auction item will support conservation efforts currently underway in Bolivia to protect and restore populations of the Critically Endangered Blue-throated Macaw. With fewer than 150 remaining in the wild, the future remains uncertain for this beautiful bird.
