This unique photo print is derived from the original feather sculpture entitled Macaws for Concern (also up for auction). The original was skillfully crafted from a naturally-molted Blue-and-gold Macaw (Ara ararauna) feather, oriented to display the blue side of the feather.

 

12" x 18" signed open-edition photo print on giclee fine art paper, backed by foamcore with a protective coating. Unframed.

3) Feathers utilized in each original piece have been legally provided to the artist by local zoos and aviaries, collected after natural molting, with no harm to the bird.

 

4) A portion of the proceeds from this auction item will support conservation efforts currently underway in Bolivia to protect and restore populations of the Critically Endangered Blue-throated Macaw. With fewer than 150 remaining in the wild, the future remains uncertain for this beautiful bird.
